Authors: Paul Pott inger, Aaron J. Tande, Sandra Bliss Nelson
RECOMMENDATION: While risk of infection may be aff ected by demographics and comorbidities, outside of known methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) colonization or true allergy, there are not patient-specifi c factors that justify a change in prophylaxis
recommendations. Patients with MRSA colonization should receive a glycopeptide in addition to standard prophylaxis.
